Production and Process Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Production & Process Engineer to join our Dental Laboratory team. This role is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the smooth flow of work from case receiving to final delivery. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with hands-on operational experience to drive continuous improvement, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Workflow Management
- Analyze and optimize the production workflow from case receipt to final delivery.
- Identify bottlenecks, delays, and process inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions.
- Design, improve, and maintain efficient production workflows.
- Ensure smooth coordination between all production departments.
Process Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Optimize production layout, resource utilization, and material flow.
- Reduce waste, waiting time, and non-value-added activities.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and process optimization projects.
Performance Management
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs and production dashboards.
Analyze key performance indicators, including:
- Turnaround Time (TAT)
- Productivity
- Capacity Utilization
- Rework Rate
- Machine Utilization
- First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Prepare regular performance reports and provide improvement recommendations.
SOPs & Documentation
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare operational manuals and work instructions.
- Ensure production processes are properly documented and standardized.
- Monitor compliance with established procedures.
Quality & Process Control
- Investigate production issues and identify root causes of rework.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with quality and technical teams to improve process performance.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout all production stages.
Team Development
- Develop competency matrices for production staff.
- Identify training needs and implement On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs.
- Support supervisors and technicians in improving operational performance.
Digital Transformation
- Support the implementation of digital workflow and production management systems.
- Improve data accuracy and reduce manual tracking.
- Assist in integrating production operations with ERP and digital dashboards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, production, mechanical, or a related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in production, process engineering, or operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, or dental laboratories is highly preferred.
Must have
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
